Thank you to all of my dearheart friends on Facebook that wished me a happy birthday! Special thank you to Karen who made a lovely chocolate caramel cake and took me to Shilla! Oh yeah, Tom too, he helped!
I will miss my Saturday morning walks to Macrina Bakery. They are located 5 blocks from my house and the brunch is amazing, one of the only places in Seattle that the chef can cook eggs properly. Jersey always gets the French Toast and the toppings change every week. This week it was Asian Pear and Almonds. I got a cold day favorite- kale and woodland mushroom bread pudding, with wild greens, and potatoes.
My wonderful postpartum doula, Tara, took us to the Ballard Locks. We saw water rise to accommodate passing boats, the salmon run is there too (but it wasn't salmon season), and there are lovely gardens to walk around. You can tell I am in Seattle, it's grunge Trish with flannel and cap!
No one really could prepare me for this crazy ride. I am exhausted, unglamorous, hairy, dry skinned, chapped lipped, sore nippled, and cracked bones. But look at that face! She's just too cool.
